About VlogCamera

Independent, hands-on gear reviews trusted by 120,000+ content creators every month.

Built by Creators, for Creators

VlogCamera.com was founded in 2023 out of frustration. As content creators ourselves, we were tired of camera reviews that read like spec sheets and drone recommendations that felt like paid advertisements.

We believed there was room for a publication that tested gear the way creators actually use it — walking and talking, filming in low light, shooting vertical for TikTok, running-and-gunning on travel days, and flying drones in real wind conditions.

Today, we review over 70 cameras and drones per year with a hands-on testing methodology that prioritizes real-world performance over synthetic benchmarks. Every piece of gear on our site has been personally tested by our editorial team.

We don't accept paid placements. Our rankings are based entirely on our own testing and editorial judgment. When we recommend a product, it's because we'd genuinely use it ourselves.

How We Test Gear

Every camera and drone goes through a rigorous multi-week evaluation process.

01

Real-World Shooting

We take every camera out for actual vlogging sessions — walking, talking, traveling, and filming in varied lighting. No laboratory-only tests. Our footage reflects how creators genuinely work.

02

Controlled Comparisons

We shoot identical scenes with competing cameras side-by-side. This lets us directly compare autofocus speed, color science, stabilization, and low-light performance in a fair, repeatable way.

03

Long-Term Use

Quick hands-on videos are fine for first impressions, but real opinions form after weeks of daily use. We use every camera for a minimum of two weeks before finalizing our review and rating.

04

Monthly Re-Evaluation

Firmware updates can dramatically change a camera. We re-test products after major updates and adjust our rankings monthly. Guides dated 2024 with 2022 info? Not here.
